Meadowlark Men’s Club Minutes
January 3, 2012

The 790th monthly meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by our President, Eno Angulo. He asked if there were any new members and there were none. He let us know he has posted the President’s Cup sign-up sheet on the bulletin board and informed the members that next month Abbie and Robert will have a free meal for us in order to make up for what they thought was something less than what they wanted at the Hookers and Slicers meeting.

Eno said we could not have the minutes of the last meeting read as the minutes from the last two months had not been posted on the website. John Kempter made a motion that we dispense with the minutes, it was seconded by Bob Dunham and passed. While on that subject Bob Kasprowicz was voted in as secretary by the board but had to decline because of his work schedule. Sean Barbosa was asked to be secretary and will be pending board approval. Rick Chase will now be the entertainment chairman.

Treasurer Jim Heard said he has given the board a budget for 2012 and it would be ratified at the next board meeting. He said he would keep us informed when new members sign up and where we stand financially.

John Trani, Membership Chairman, said at this time we have 184 members and waiting for approval by the board on new applications. He is working on putting together a club roster so the tournament and handicap committees can contact the members and email addresses.

Handicap Chairman Bob Calli informed us of his committee for this year and they are David Baker, David Bayley, Tom Blood, John Chapman, Bill Grizzle, Andy Herrera, Doug Heinrichs, Dennis Rustad, Bob Simpson, Don Stout, and John Trani.

Golfers of the month for the last two months will receive a free round of golf and they are: November golfer of the month: Net – Richard Kearns (60 Gross – No cards December golfer of the month: Net – Larry Clem and Don Kennelly (60) Gross – Tom Tubbs (67)

Most improved golfers for December were Chris Ferrante, Steve Schneider, Sean Tolsney, Robert Corrigan, and Gary Wells. Wells was the only one present and will receive a big cocktail of his choice.

Rules & Greens, Doug Heinrichs, said he is looking forward to the position that our president has appointed him to and will work with management and attend a Rules & Greens Seminar.

Sean Barbosa, Team Play Captain, gave us the rules governing Team Play and that our first match is Saturday, January 14th against Dad Miller at home. Anyone interested in playing should contact him, or any of the three co-captains, Rick Eaton, Jim Heard, and Eno Angulo. Sean and Gary Wells took in the 50/50 money and the winners were Bill Johnson $50 and Andy Herrera $25 with $70 going to the treasury.

VP & Tournament Chairman, Scott Durand, passed out the envelopes for the Turkey Shoot… his committee for this year will be Gary Wells, Assistant Tournament Chairman, Pace Kelly, David Bayley, Mark Phillips, Don Stout, Chris Ferrante, and Doug Heinrichs. The Players Championship wl be played on Sunday, January 15th and to check website for ate and formats.
